Oakley Pet Services is a family run business located in the picturesque village of Oakley, on the outskirts of Basingstoke. The service offers small animal boarding, dog walking, pet sitting and home visits to care for your pets.
We are fully insured and our mixture of life experience and passion for animals means that you can fully relax while your pet is in our care.

Hi,
My name is Maja and I run Oakley Pet Services with my mum-in-law Lindsey (I’m the boss, shhh … don’t tell her!) I live in Oakley with my fiancé Ian and our son Eryk.
I have always had a great passion for all animals, beginning as soon as I could walk! As a one year old I used to run across the road to see the carriage horses…but then my animal obsession became worse! I used to bring small animals home and only tell my parents once they’ve settled in. For as long as I can remember I strived to be around animals. Living in a small village enabled me to have the usual dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice… and even two rescue pigeons!
Keeping animals was put on hold when I first moved to England but it didn’t stop me from daily interactions – I used to care for friends’ cats while they were on holiday and had the pleasure of walking a beautiful Golden Retriever for my local pub.
My lack of animals at home didn’t last long – I had a few rats during my time at university in Southampton…. and then moved onto bringing home a cat…(which apparently my partner didn’t know about – he’s now her daddy).
I moved to Oakley in August 2019 and after unsuccessful begging my partner to have a puppy I settled with the old family dog that belongs to my mother in law. Otto is 11 years old but behaves like a puppy when I get out my clicker and food rewards…
In the end I didn’t get my dream puppy but I was silenced when my partner agreed to couple of rescue ponies….so now my family includes Lizzie the cat, Otto the old Doberman who’s not mine but spends a lot time with us in our part of the house , and two ponies – Cracker and Charisma.
Oakley Pet Services was born as the perfect solution – I could do a job that I love ….and my family would be safe from me asking for more animals! I love all parts of this job from dog Walking to the small animal boarding.
I am currently studying to become a qualified canine behaviourist and hold Canine First Aid Certificate. Another passion of mine is drawing animals so if you would like me to draw a pet portait for you then dont hestitate to email me – I would love to hear all about you and your companion!
Lindsey
From a young age I had a passion for animals which had to be satisfied! I badgered my poor dad to empty his garden shed and gradually filled it with rabbits and guinea-pigs which I rescued and loved. The house too became a home for hamsters and gerbils and once I was a little older my parents even came home from holiday to two ducks on our small garden pond which somebody had wanted to re-home!
I worked in a pet shop at the age of 13 (as was allowed back then!) and eventually became the owner of my own small chain of pet shops which I ran for over 30 years. At my pet shops we also offered small animal boarding. I hold City and Guilds in Pet Store Management which covers the general well-being of our pets including health, hygiene and nutrition.
Working with Maja to offer pet care services is the perfect way to continue a life-long connection with our amazing companions.
